Job Title: Programming Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Programming Engineer to join our team at Olympic Industries. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining software that controls machinery, production processes, or automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and create nests for the laser department using Lantek
  • Assist in design and creation of drawings using Inventor, SolidWorks, or other software
  • Develop CAD models of components/assemblies and revise existing CAD drawings
  • Submit drawings for customer approval and review comments/suggestions
  • Collaborate with facility and production teams to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of designs
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all drawings and designs
  • Analyze design specifications to determine feasibility and optimize production efficiency
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date library of design files, drawings, and project documentation
Requirements:
  • Experience communicating on technical matters in a production environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Lantek, AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks 2-D and 3-D
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as welding, laser, brake press, milling, etc.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze/resolve design-related issues
  • Proficient computer skills
