Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and results-oriented General Manager for our Traverse City location. This individual will report directly to the President of Walstrom Marine and be responsible for overseeing daily marina operations, managing staff, developing and managing budgets, and ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily marina operations to ensure efficiency and smooth functioning.
  • Coordinate and manage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and manage budgets, including forecasting revenue and controlling expenses.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and conflicts in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in the development of long-term strategic plans for marina and dealership growth and development.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive work environment for all team members.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior marina and/or marine dealer management experience and a basic working knowledge of boat and yacht maintenance.
  • Experience in leadership roles and building positive relationships with team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle and resolve disputes.
  • Experience with IDS or similar ERP/service software systems.
  • Experience with budgeting and driving profitability.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.

Schedule
