Job Title: Stewardship Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Stewardship Coordinator is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing all fund development and stewardship activities. This includes planning and executing fundraising programs, coordinating non-liturgical Parish Life events, and securing grants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stewardship and development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute fundraising programs that meet or exceed revenue generating goals for campaigns such as Archbishop Appeal and Like a Mustard Seed Capital Campaign.
  • Coordinate and promote non-liturgical Parish Life events, including Parish Annual Raffles, Fundraising Galas, and Festivals.
  • Secure a diverse range of high-quality vendors for Fall Festivals, including food, beverage, merchandise, and activity vendors.
  • Oversee grant seeking, including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.
  • Form relationships with major donors to fund projects and initiatives for the parish.
  • Report bi-weekly fundraising activity and projections to the Pastor or Office Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Parish Finance Council to develop and manage Like a Mustard Seed Capital Campaign.
  • Consult with the Architect, Interior Designer, and Consultant to the Archdiocese of San Antonio to develop a comprehensive campaign plan.
  • Collaborate with the Communication Specialist for publications on all social platforms and the creation of publications to support fundraising activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or its equivalent in experience, with three or more years of experience in stewardship and development.
  • Three or more years of experience in stewardship, fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and fundraising software.
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed for events and meetings.
Other Required Skills:
  • Understanding of stewardship and its elements.
  • High level of professionalism while representing the parish outside of the office.
  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing.
  • Knowledge of the teaching of the Catholic Church, a familiarity with its structures, functions, and institutions.
  • Ability to demonstrate practicing stewardship as a way of life.
  • High level of independent thought and initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with diverse groups of people.
Goals:
  • Raise brand awareness engaging community through in-person visits and with our social media department.
  • Acquire new recurring donors.
  • Reconnect with donors that did not complete their capital campaign pledges and encourage them to complete the pledge.
  • Encourage present donors to increase their present gift size.
  • Grow the existing fundraising programs by 30% over prior year.
  • Secure donors for prizes on Parish Raffle so church funds are no longer used to purchase prizes.
  • Get the parish community excited again about the start of the Parish Life Building.
  • Generate a minimum of $750K - $1MM annually.
