About the Role

Sysco is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team in implementing and promoting a proactive safety culture within our operations. As a key member of our health, safety, and environmental (HSE) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HSE programs and training initiatives to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents and near-miss events to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with site management to develop and implement HSE plans and policies.
  • Provide training and coaching to employees on HSE procedures and best practices.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of HSE activities and incidents.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a warehousing, manufacturing, or transportation operation.
  • OSHA certifications and/or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
