Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will handle a variety of litigation matters, with a focus on:
  • Real estate litigation, including easement disputes, boundary issues, and public condemnation claims.
  • Land use, zoning, permitting, and environmental law, encompassing regulatory and administrative aspects.
  • Construction law, addressing contract negotiations and disputes.
  • Commercial litigation, including mediation and negotiation related to transactional practices.


Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensed to practice law in Vermont and in good standing.
  • A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, particularly in commercial litigation, land use, and real estate.
  • Demonstrated success in representing clients in court with favorable outcomes.
  • Strong legal research capabilities using various tools.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil procedure and evidence rules.
  • Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts clearly.
  • High standards of professionalism and ethics.
