Position Title: Transportation and Applied Technology Support Specialist

Appointment Type: Unclassified - Administrative/Staff

Salary: Starting at $15.25 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stay informed about general college policies and procedures.
  • Understand current recruitment and admissions protocols.
  • Provide accurate and respectful information to students regarding the admissions process.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to student inquiries.
  • Assist in student advising initiatives.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with campus departments and external organizations.
  • Support Advisory Committee Meetings.
  • Help maintain the Flying Tigers Portal, including syllabi and committee minutes.
  • Ensure confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA.
  • Manage and maintain accurate files for the School of Transportation and Applied Technology.
  • Organize student and instructor records for up to two years.
  • Keep an updated list of student industry-based certifications.
  • Draft and produce correspondence for the School of Transportation and Applied Technology.
  • Prepare and manage schedules and documentation for the School.
  • Write and maintain requisitions for departmental needs.
  • Record minutes for school meetings and post them appropriately.
  • Design and create promotional materials for the School's use.
  • Maintain a calendar, screen communications, and assist with proofreading and editing reports.
  • Compile information for faculty workload and proficiency assessments.
  • Assist Program Coordinators with scheduling and travel requisitions.
  • Manage mail delivery for the School.
  • Track inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean or designated representative.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Three years of similar experience in a higher education setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Experience managing an office environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity for independent decision-making with sound judgment.
  • Proficient in computer usage for information management.
  • Competence in basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to interpret numerical data and printouts.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Physical ability to perform filing and storage tasks.
  • Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Willingness to work a standard Monday through Friday schedule with occasional overtime.
