Senior Security Clearance Manager

Key Responsibilities:

This role offers the opportunity to work remotely.
  • Oversee a team of security clearance professionals tasked with the assessment and evaluation of completed investigation reports, including various types of background checks.
  • Analyze the Declaration of Federal Employment to identify any concerning or favorable information.
  • Request necessary documentation from candidates regarding financial, criminal, or other relevant issues.
  • Manage a portfolio of cases with timely follow-ups in line with government protocols.
  • Assess background investigation requests and related documentation, initiating appropriate investigations for candidates in sensitive roles, adhering to federal regulations.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess an active NACI or Public Trust clearance.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience, including two (2) years in a leadership role, demonstrating proficiency in managing teams and overseeing national-level projects in federal personnel security.
The Senior Security Clearance Manager must be capable of performing the following tasks:
  • Evaluating OPM PIPS/CVS.
  • Creating and updating applicant profiles while initiating background investigations in the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
  • Reviewing resumes to assess employment history and verifying submitted documents for background checks.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of investigative documents, returning incomplete submissions to the originator.
  • Handling a minimum of 15 cases daily.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of the National Background Investigation System (NBIS) for processing various levels of background checks.
  • Demonstrating strong writing skills to produce comprehensive analyses.
  • Exhibiting effective communication skills to provide guidance on personnel security matters to applicants and HR personnel.
  • Having completed training in Suitability and Fitness Adjudication provided by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).
  • Staying informed on legislative and regulatory changes affecting background investigation processes.
  • Conducting security audits and documenting findings.
  • Planning and executing program evaluations related to security operations.
  • Applying analytical techniques to address issues in security administration.
  • Performing thorough program assessments, considering cost-effectiveness and compliance with legal standards.
  • Developing project methodologies and identifying techniques to achieve project goals.
  • Conducting detailed analyses of complex processes.
  • Researching and evaluating the effectiveness of security operations.
  • Establishing timelines for project planning and execution.
  • Researching and implementing best practices in personnel security to ensure consistency across the organization.
