About the Role

Familia Dental is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists in delivering high-quality dental services.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner from the reception area to and from the treatment areas.
    • Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and reorder when necessary.
    • Take and record patient medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure, and pulse.
    • Document and chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per dentist's instructions and legal requirements.
    • Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
    • Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
    • Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist dentists during dental procedures.
    • Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Notify the Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns.
    • Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings.
  • Qualifications
    • Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
    • Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
    • Detail-oriented.
    • Able to carry out written and verbal instructions.
    • Organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
    • Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate.
    • Dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
    • Experience working within healthcare or related field strongly preferred.
