Job Summary

This is a full-time Therapist position in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, providing school-based counseling services in local schools and outpatient services in the Bedford County Clinical Services Unit. The successful candidate will work with children and adolescents in the school setting, providing group, individual, and play therapy, as well as consultation and education to school personnel and community individuals. In the outpatient setting, the Therapist will provide individual therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, and group counseling to people of all ages. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in psychology or a closely related field and one year of experience as a Psychological Services Associate 1 or one year of professional experience in psychological services work. The position requires PA residency and the ability to pass a background investigation. Responsibilities

• Provide school-based counseling services in local schools, including group, individual, and play therapy to children and adolescents.
• Provide consultation and education to school personnel and community individuals on mental health issues and resources.
• Complete on-site school mental health assessments and intakes for students identified by the school.
• Assess student needs and complete appropriate referrals.
• Coordinate with crisis intervention staff in handling mental health emergencies in schools.
• Provide individual therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, and group counseling to people of all ages in the outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with clientele and establish a strengths-based, goal-specific treatment plan.
• Provide professional mental health consultation to other staff and community individuals or agencies.
• Perform therapy diagnostic evaluations to enroll clientele in counseling and psychiatric services.
• Make referrals to other programs as warranted.
• Coordinate care with crisis intervention staff to facilitate crisis assessments related to voluntary hospitalizations when necessary.
• Provide an eight-week hourly group session related to the extended outpatient program focusing on topics that promote self-care, self-management, and self-recovery.
• Attend meetings, participate in staff development trainings, and assist with presentations/trainings to community organizations as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field.
• One year of experience as a Psychological Services Associate 1 or one year of professional experience in psychological services work.
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• Ability to pass a background investigation.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Must be able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service.
