About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our Foster Care and Family Services Division at the Kennedy-Donovan Center. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and assess new foster parent applicants, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements and standards.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to foster parents, including initial training, MAPP, and ongoing trainings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of foster families, adhering to Department of Children and Families and Department of Early Education and Care licensing standards.
  • Conduct regular visits to foster homes, assessing their suitability and providing guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to identify and engage potential foster families, promoting the benefits of foster care and addressing any concerns.
  • Participate in staff meetings, group and individual supervision, and case reviews to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide beeper coverage services during non-office hours, demonstrating a commitment to the well-being of children and families.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field (Psychology, Human Services) required.
  • LSW or LSWA licensure required, within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn the EOHHS Virtual Gateway iFamily Net system.
  • Experience in public relations/outreach and training preferred, as well as bilingual Portuguese and/or Spanish speaking skills.
