Senior Speech Writer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Speech Writer to join our team at UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies. As a Senior Speech Writer, you will provide executive leadership with advisement and assistance in writing and developing communication materials aligned with organizational initiatives and priorities.
Responsibilities:- Experience writing speeches for senior defense and/or industry leaders.
- Work directly with senior leaders to develop themes and messaging that aligns to and complements their speaking style.
- Produce concise and properly edited products that clearly and logically convey complex information and ideas.
- Bachelor of Art / Science degree in Communications.
- Ten or more years of experience as a speechwriter.
- Preferred military speechwriter (I or II level preferred) as demonstrated in applicant's portfolio / writing samples.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong knowledge of Navy and Defense issues and current events; as well as working knowledge of naval history, heritage and traditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.
- Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.
- US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
