The Respiratory Therapist 3 plays a critical role in the care of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. This includes assessing patients' status, recommending and administering oxygen therapy, pharmacological agents, bronchial hygiene, airway, and ventilator care.

Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist 3 is responsible for managing the Ventilator/Rounding protocol, helping medical doctors assess cardiopulmonary status, and striving to reduce the length of stay on ventilators and in intensive care units. They will also need to make assessments of patients' cardiopulmonary compromise, treat hypoxia/bronchospasm with proper modalities, and perform non-invasive mask ventilation.

Education and Experience

Candidates must have an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy and hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. At least one year of experience is required, as well as advanced level ventilator management skills for adults and NICU.

Physical Demands

This role requires manual dexterity, significant occupational risk, and physical effort exerting up to 50 lbs of force. Candidates must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
