About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Director to lead our global engineering team at Airwallex. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the technical vision and strategy for our engineering organization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a global team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success.
  • Develop and implement technical strategies and roadmaps to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services, meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the team's ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams, driving technical innovation, and delivering business results.
  • Strong technical expertise in software engineering, with a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing business needs.
