Job Summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking an experienced IT Application Analyst to join our team. As an IT Application Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, implementing, and supporting information technology solutions to meet operational and clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and present solutions and options that improve patient care, enhance patient engagement, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot systems, including testing and documenting Epic applications.
  • Understand system options and configurations completely and suggest and lead teams through decisions on the best way to configure and utilize the system.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in design, configuration, and building one or more technologies of moderate to high complexity.
  • Support/maintain day-to-day existing functionality/programs/applications.
  • Perform intermediate system analysis and troubleshooting to implement new functionality/programs/applications, and to analyze/research vendor release notes and documentation.
  • Create thorough system design and build documentation.
  • Translate high-level business requirements to detailed technical designs/documentation.
  • Collaborate with other analysts, staff, vendors, and leadership.
  • Meet with department heads and executives on a routine basis to identify and prioritize their needs.
  • Lead application management activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage product lifecycle management, end user enhancement requests of moderate to high complexity, and technical aspects of the modules/applications that are assigned.
  • Assist in identifying any barriers to adoption of clinical practice.
  • Perform a variety of tasks to support the organizational initiatives.
  • Facilitate performance improvement for the effective use of information technology.
  • Support business/clinical operations with clinical and financial end users.
  • Support continued system maintenance and optimization.
  • On-call coverage (after business hours and weekends) is required, on a rotational basis or as-needed. Some travel required, both locally and overnight.
Requirements
  • EPIC certification for the area in which you support (Cadence/Prelude) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience required in one of the following areas: Clinical, operational, application support and implementation.
  • Development experience with applications in a hospital or medical related industry is required.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Experience working with project life cycle or project management methodologies is required.
  • Advanced understanding and comfort leading business and technology partners through a structured deployment and/or implementation life cycle and support model.
  • Ongoing maintenance of Epic certification(s) required.
  • Strong business or clinical acumen.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills.
  • Able to get things done and escalate issues to the decision-makers as necessary.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities and adapt to change.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, ability to troubleshoot, be proactive.
  • Demonstrates qualities of assertiveness, a high sense of urgency, initiative (self-starter), effective communication skills including presentation skills, facilitation skills, and a positive attitude.
