Position Overview:
Are you a seasoned finance professional with a passion for guiding teams towards success?
We are in search of an Accounting Manager to oversee our General Accounting Section, leading a dedicated team of approximately ten to fifteen accountants with diverse experience levels.

Key Responsibilities:
The team is responsible for the management and processing of all general ledger financial data, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis, cash management, and compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP, CAS, and FAR.
The Section Supervisor will:
1. Define expectations and implement policies.
2. Conduct financial analysis and review financial statement packages.
3. Supervise the Oracle General Ledger and Projects systems.
4. Coordinate indirect cost burdening and allocations.
5. Manage fixed assets and capitalization accounting activities.
6. Collaborate with internal and external audit teams.
7. Partner with the CFO and department leadership on special projects.
8. Work with other Section Supervisors to enhance organizational impact and foster a culture of excellence.

Identify and nurture key talent for future leadership roles.

Operational Competencies:
Ensure the section is equipped with necessary resources and tools to fulfill its mission.
Uphold the highest standards of excellence in all projects.
Advise on operational and financial strategies, and navigate complex accounting changes driven by new regulations.
Support significant organizational changes, identify opportunities and challenges, and ensure compliance with accounting standards while managing financial risks.
Assist in the evolution of the group, including the implementation of new tools.

Qualifications:
You meet our minimum qualifications if you possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting.
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in general accounting.
- CPA certification and/or an MBA.
- Advanced proficiency in financial statement presentation and audit coordination.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, CAS, and FAR regulations.
- Proven strategic thinking and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Highly developed analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in business applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of experience in a DoD contracting environment, supervisory experience, and familiarity with APL business systems such as Oracle General Ledger and Data Warehouse applications will be advantageous.
