Data Science Event Manager

Avispa Technology is seeking an experienced Data Science Event Manager to join our team in Stanford, CA. Salary: $28/hr (20 hours/week).
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing data science event activities, including logistics, registration, and vendor coordination. You will work closely with the Data Science Community Manager and other staff members to ensure successful events.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute data science events, such as seminars, lectures, and conferences.
- Manage logistics, including registration, attendee tracking, and presentation support.
- Coordinate vendor services and provide on-site event support.
- Research and recommend potential event locations and evaluate alternatives.
- Track invoices and manage receipts, helping to manage event budgets.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in event management, preferably in a data science or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive golf carts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to manage shifting priorities and handle multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving, initiative, and judgment skills.
