The role involves supporting the Registered Nurse and the medical team in delivering healthcare services to youth in a detention environment, adhering to established policies and standards.
ResponsibilitiesThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will:
- Assist in the provision of medical care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and physicians.
- Report medical issues to the nursing staff and administrative matters to the Director.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A diploma from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program and a valid New York nursing license.
- A valid New York State Driver's License in good standing.
- Experience working with children and effective communication skills.
- A mature, calm demeanor with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience as an LPN, with a preference for backgrounds in pediatric, psychiatric emergency, or residential treatment settings.
