We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to join our team at Wellpath. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical services to inmates, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, state guidelines, and practice standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct on-site clinics and rounds, and ensure progress note documentation is in SOAP format and adheres to the established formulary.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide emergency treatment on-site.
- Support standards of medical care through adherence to existing policies and procedures, and assumes responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions.
- Reports any doubts or questions regarding necessary interventions to the Medical Director or Health Services Administrator for disposition.
- Provides input into facility mandatory committees as requested by Site Medical Director, Health Services Administrator or designee.
- A graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Prior medical/surgical and/or emergency/trauma experience and corrections experience is preferred.
- Must have the patience and tact to deal with the inmate population and ability to work effectively in the corrections environment.
- Scheduling flexibility is also required to be able to rotate hours and shifts, if needed, and to be called during emergency situations to provide coverage.
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner within the state of employment.
- Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
