Job Opportunity:

Belcan is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer IV to support the Kuiper satellite program. This is a broad scoped position providing manufacturing engineering ownership of multiple mechanisms and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, procure, and commission mechanical fixtures and assemblies to support satellite sub-assembly functional and environmental testing
* Design space hardware production processes and production lines
* Experience with equipment design, procurement, installation, and qualification
* Ability to support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis
* Assembly, Integration, and Test takt time & cost optimization planning
* DFM review and sign off for design release

Requirements:

* BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent
* Knowledge of MCAD software 3D modeling and 2D drafting
* Experience designing mechanical assemblies
* Experience with rapid prototype tooling
* Experience with production tooling
* Experience in project management
* Strong communication and writing skills

Preferred Skills:

* Sieman Teamcenter for PLM
* NX for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
* Mechanical tolerance stack-up analysis
* Design for Manufacturability experience, specifically in Aerospace
* Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools
* Knowledge and ability to implement Lean and Six Sigma tools when appropriate
