Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planner 4-CEQA/NEPA to join our team at CDM Smith. As a key member of our environmental planning group, you will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and/or the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments and analyses for CEQA and NEPA documents, technical studies, and plans.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, clients, and sub-consultants to research, analyze, and resolve complex environmental impact-related design project issues.
  • Review land use plans for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental and conservation laws.
  • Prepare CEQA and/or NEPA documents, including environmental impact reports or environmental impact statements.
  • Assist in public outreach, including preparation of project information materials, presentations, and public meeting/workshop materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community, or Regional Planning or related discipline.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Expertise in CEQA and NEPA processes and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in writing CEQA and NEPA documents for a variety of agencies and project types and sizes.
  • Transit and Aviation CEQA/NEPA experience.
