Key Responsibilities of a Palliative Care Registered Nurse:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients and their families to identify palliative care needs, including a thorough review of medical history and physical evaluations, with a focus on pain management and symptom relief.
  • Perform ongoing evaluations of the patient's physical condition and the emotional well-being of the patient and family.
  • Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG), the patient, and the physician to create and implement a personalized care plan.

Qualifications for Palliative Care Registered Nurses:

  • Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
  • Possession of an active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of South Carolina or a compact multi-state license.
  • A minimum of twelve (12) months of nursing experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of experience in palliative or hospice care.
