Position Overview:
As an Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Description:
4 East is a specialized 33-bed Medical Surgical unit dedicated to the care of oncology patients. Our mission is to provide outstanding nursing care with a compassionate approach, ensuring that patients maintain their dignity throughout their treatment.

Holistic Care Approach:
We emphasize a holistic approach that includes not only the patient but also their families and other caregivers. Our collaborative efforts with various departments ensure that patients receive the most effective and quality care possible.

Nursing Responsibilities:
As a registered professional nurse, you will assess, implement, delegate, plan, and evaluate comprehensive nursing care in line with established philosophies. You will also ensure effective communication with other shifts and departments to promote optimal continuity of care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Valid Texas RN License or Eligible Compact License
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • BSN required or must be obtained within three years
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Medical-Surgical certification preferred
  • UMC Chemo certification required within one year of hire
