About the Role:

The Cancer Center Infusion Center provides care to adult and pediatric patients with non-cancerous, hematology and/or oncology conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy and other medications via various routes, including ambulatory infusion pumps, intravenous, intrathecal, IM or SQ routes.
  • Perform therapeutic phlebotomy, administer blood and blood products, and provide anti-emetic therapy and IV hydration.
  • Assess, implement, or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy.
  • Relate effectively with other departments for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License.
  • Experienced RN.
  • Maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
  • BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
  • Completion of ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy required within 90 days.
  • OCN certification must be achieved within 3 years of hire.
