The Psychiatric Social Worker is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing direct assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment intervention, and psycho-education to our members and/or family members. As a seasoned mental health professional, you will be responsible for recognizing the appropriate and timely clinical treatment intervention needed, working with specific age groups as determined by your training and certification. You will be expected to be familiar with a variety of treatment modalities and provide high-quality care to our members.
Essential Responsibilities:- Assessment and Diagnosis: Timely and accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment intervention of members.
- Treatment Modalities: Selection of appropriate treatment modalities to address members' presenting problems.
- Communication: Effective communication of clinical material to members and clinical staff.
- Customer Satisfaction: Providing high internal and external customer/patient satisfaction.
- Treatment Expertise: Demonstrating expertise in a variety of treatment methodologies.
- Documentation: Providing accurate and timely documentation of clinical encounters in members' charts.
- Resource Knowledge: Being knowledgeable of Kaiser Permanente and community resources.
- Compliance: Adhering to all mandated guidelines for patients' clinical care and licensure.
- Licensure: Maintaining licensure and adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Initial Interviews: Conducting initial interviews with members, eliciting and interpreting the psychological and social meaning of complaints.
- Urgency Determination: Determining the urgency of members' needs.
- Treatment Recommendations: Providing professional interpretations of members' presentations and recommending a course of therapeutic action, selecting appropriate treatment modalities.
- Treatment Provision: Providing treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
- Crisis Intervention: Rendering immediate guidance and therapy for members in crisis or in need of clinical services.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining written records of therapy, preparing reports and letters, and contacting social agencies, schools, relatives, and friends to obtain pertinent information.
- Consultation: Providing clinical consultation in an integrated healthcare environment regarding family interactions, sociocultural determinants, and community resources.
- Telephone Assessment: Providing telephone assessment, counseling, resource information, and referrals.
- Developmental Stages: Identifying and treating the span of developmental stages.
- Treatment Modalities: Proficient in various treatment modalities, including individual, group, family, and child therapy.
- Compliance: Complying with organizational, departmental, state, and federal guidelines and all regulatory agency policies and procedures.
- Quality Improvement: Participating in quality management and continuous quality improvement activities.
- Experience: Two (2) years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five (5) years required.
- Education: Masters degree in a Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health required.
- Licensure: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) required.
- Registration: National Provider Identifier required.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature required.
- Cultural Competence: Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to customers, contracted providers, and vendors.
- Experience: Experience in EMDR, DBT, Eating Disorders, Couple's counseling, and LGBTQ+ preferred but not required.
