Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/Kennel Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/Kennel Attendant. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility between working full days and nights, including weekends and holidays.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience in veterinary reception or customer service is preferred, but not required. We provide training for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine procedures such as venipuncture, IV catheter, suture removal, and injection administration.
- Assist with technical duties such as setting up, positioning, and taking radiographs, in-house laboratory and cytology tests.
- Record keeping and communication: prepare estimates, update patient files with notes on in-person or phone conversations, educate clients on treatment plans and patient care, and answer calls in a timely manner.
- Patient care and treatment: perform dental treatment, conduct physical patient examinations, monitor vitals, assist and monitor surgeries and anesthesia, prepare and administer medication and vaccines.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Aptitude, comprehension, and understanding of medical procedures and animal care/handling.
- Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Dependability, strong work ethic, and listening skills that translate to effective and productive work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
