Position Overview
As a pivotal member of the Investment Team at MiddleGround Capital I, LP, the Senior Vice President of Investments plays a crucial role in steering the firm's investment strategies. This position reports directly to the Head of the Transaction Team and oversees a team of Analysts and Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Evaluation: Lead the assessment, structuring, execution, and exit strategies for diverse investment opportunities and transactions.
- Deal Flow Management: Generate and monitor deal flow while driving initiatives within portfolio companies.
- Internal Process Improvement: Engage in training and implement enhancements to internal processes.
- Business Development: Cultivate and sustain relationships with various sources of investment opportunities, including investment banks, brokers, and industry professionals.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate and manage third-party resources for comprehensive due diligence, including legal, accounting, and industry reviews.
- Investment Committee Oversight: Manage all work products for the Investment Committee, including Opportunity Overviews and Investment Memos, while leading meetings and providing recommendations on deal structures and critical documentation.
- Financing Strategy: Establish and maintain relationships with financing sources, leading negotiations and structuring transactions to align with company policies.
- Portfolio Management: Collaborate with the Operating Team to oversee portfolio company management, ensuring alignment with the Value Creation Plan (VCP).
- Board Engagement: Coordinate Board meeting agendas and materials, and participate in Board discussions to ensure effective governance.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in private equity or distressed transactions.
- Proven expertise in structuring investment opportunities and negotiating agreements.
- Experience in the Industrials sector is highly preferred.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills, particularly in LBO modeling.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead investment deals from inception to completion.
