About the Role:
UCSF Fitness and Recreation is seeking a Recreation Sport Instructor to join our team. As a Recreation Sport Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality recreational sports programs to our members. This is a part-time position, with a variable schedule of 20% of a full-time equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver recreational sports programs to members, including instruction and supervision.
- Develop and implement lesson plans and curriculum for recreational sports programs.
- Provide excellent customer service to members and respond to their needs and concerns.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of recreational sports programs.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements:
- Certification to instruct or professional experience in the applicable recreational sports program.
- American Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
- Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures.
- Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking, time management skills, and dynamic flexibility in adapting to the needs of clients.
- Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills.
- Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills.
- Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties.
- Knowledge of campus policies and procedures.
- Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check.
