Job Summary



The Director of Campus Recreation Transformation Leader position is a key role in the CSU's Student Affairs department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the campus recreation team and overseeing the development and implementation of strategic programs and services that promote student engagement, wellness, and success.



Key Responsibilities



• Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for campus recreation that aligns with the CSU's strategic goals and priorities

• Lead the campus recreation team in delivering high-quality programs and services that promote student engagement, wellness, and success

• Oversee the development and administration of recreational facilities, including the Mashouf Wellness Center

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance student life and support student success

• Develop and manage budgets, including revenue-generating enterprises, to support campus recreation programs and services

• Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the campus recreation team and promote inclusive practices throughout the department

• Stay up-to-date with best practices in campus recreation and apply innovative approaches to programming and service delivery

• Ensure compliance with CSU policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations

• Recruit, hire, and develop staff within a supportive work environment that is directed strategically towards common goals

• Oversee the development, growth, and successful upkeep of departmental facilities and operations

• Promote and ensure the application of human resources professional responsibilities and ethical standards



Requirements



An earned Doctorate in a relevant discipline, such as recreation, kinesiology, sports management, higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field. Familiarity working in a collective bargaining environment. Demonstrated record of effectively managing complex budget portfolios, including revenue-generating enterprises. Demonstrated ability to articulate the role student life plays in recruitment, student success, retention, and graduation, and a commitment to college student development and student leadership.



Preferred Qualifications



A Master's Degree in recreation, kinesiology, sports management, higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field, and at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in student affairs and/or student life, preferably in collegiate recreation. Possession of a working knowledge of National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Strategic Values and Core Competencies and application within the collegiate recreation setting.



Salary and Benefits



The salary range for this position is $8,500 - $9,166 Per Month ($102,000- $110,000 Annually), commensurate with experience. The CSU offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, pension, 401k, healthcare savings account, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and sick leave, as well as state holidays and a dynamic fee waiver program.
