Job Summary

VCU Health - MCV Physicians is seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team at the School of Medicine. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional anesthetic and critical care to pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to patients as assigned by the Department Chair or delegate.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or delegate.
  • Participate in clinical teaching programs, conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required by the Chair.
  • Pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently within the guidelines of the Institution and Department.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
