Cyber Security Analyst Job Description

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our team. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for configuring, deploying, and monitoring virus software and other vulnerability management tools to protect our network and data.

You will work closely with our Information Security Specialist to develop and implement protective shields and ensure compliance with cyber security policies. Your goal will be to detect and prevent cyber intrusion efforts and ensure the security of our network and data.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of cyber security principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve our security goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, deploy, and monitor virus software and other vulnerability management tools
  • Develop and implement protective shields and ensure compliance with cyber security policies
  • Detect and prevent cyber intrusion efforts
  • Ensure the security of our network and data

Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate degree in cyber security, network security, computer science, or a related field
  • 24 semester credits in cyber security, network security, or a related field
  • 3 years of experience in cyber security, network security, or a related field
