Job Summary

The Chenega Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Police Officer to join our team. As a Security Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing federal law and providing security services to our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce federal law and regulations to ensure the safety and security of our facilities and personnel.
  • Conduct mobile patrols, inspections, and searches to identify and prevent potential security threats.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  • Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
  • Initiate detentions and transport individuals as necessary.
  • Perform protective service work, including guarding company property and equipment.
  • Control access to company facilities and ensure that all personnel and visitors are properly screened and cleared.
  • Participate in Guard Mount and receive assigned post duties.
  • Carry out general and special orders for assigned post.
  • Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and orally as required.
  • Interact and escort visitors and government personnel as necessary.
  • Provide access control, traffic control, and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of uniform and equipment assigned.
  • Follow applicable standard operating procedures and company regulations.
  • Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, and facility checks and package and parcel inspections.
Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard), or any combination of two years of experience in physical security and service with the United States Armed Services, or Associate's Degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or successful completion of a police officer's basic training academy.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Must possess and maintain National Security Clearance at the Secret level eligibility.
  • Must meet or exceed the Minimum Medical and Physical Standards for an Armed Security Officer outlined in Interagency Security Committee, Best Practices for Armed Security Officers in Federal Facilities, Appendix B.
  • Must satisfactorily qualify with a 9 mm semi-auto pistol handgun and M4 semi-automatic rifle, and shotgun qualification course administered by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center quarterly.
  • Must complete and successfully pass the FLETC Active Shooter Threat Training Program.
  • The PAT requirements are in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Services requirements.
  • Must satisfactorily pass initial and random drug testing.
  • Must satisfactorily pass initial psychological testing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
