Job Summary

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Criminal Investigator to join our team. As a key member of our investigative operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of investigators in the prevention, detection, and investigation of complex crimes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of investigators in the conduct of complex investigations, including the gathering and analysis of evidence, and the development of investigative strategies.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to investigators, ensuring that all investigations are conducted in accordance with Bureau policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to share intelligence and best practices, and to coordinate investigative efforts.
  • Develop and implement effective investigative plans, including the identification of investigative resources and the allocation of personnel and assets.
  • Conduct thorough and accurate investigations, including the collection and analysis of evidence, and the development of investigative reports.
Requirements
  • At least one year of specialized experience in a law enforcement or investigative role, including experience in the conduct of complex investigations and the supervision of investigators.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team of investigators.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective investigative strategies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with frequent travel and the need to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be required to pass a background investigation and to undergo a period of probationary employment.
