Job Overview:

Lumicity is seeking a skilled Aerospace Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery used in the production of aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Operate and control CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and other manufacturing equipment to produce aerospace components according to blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Setup and Calibration: Set up machines by installing and aligning tools, fixtures, and parts. Calibrate machinery to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished parts using precision instruments to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances. Identify and address any defects or discrepancies.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Report any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production quantities, and any issues encountered during the manufacturing process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to optimize production processes and resolve any production-related challenges.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience operating CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment in an aerospace or precision machining environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and machine manuals. Strong understanding of machining principles, tool selection, and material properties.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine and production issues effectively.
  • Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and report on production progress and issues.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
