Job Summary:

IDD Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer I to join our Supply Chain Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for procuring a select range of items and services necessary to support our company requirements in an efficient, cost-effective manner, while maintaining quality standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Balance the inbound flow of materials that support our manufacturing lines while ensuring we meet our inventory KPIs.
  • Procurement: Manage purchase orders in accordance with defined inventory targets, including ABC order policies and minimum order quantities.
  • Supplier Management: Ensure purchase unit pricing does not exceed standard material costs and negotiate volume price breaks with suppliers.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively address and resolve issues to minimize delays in production, collaborating with internal team members as needed.
  • Supply Chain Collaboration: Identify potential supplier shortages or capacity issues and work with internal teams to drive work prioritization.
  • Technical Support: Escalate technical issues and mitigate them with stakeholder support.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting performance, quality, lead-time, delivery, invoice discrepancies, and drive appropriate actions when needed.
  • MRP Updates: Ensure MRP is updated with the correct purchased part parameters.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Satisfy the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests, understanding requirements, and building successful and productive customer relationships.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve processes and participate in quality improvement teams when appropriate.
  • Supply Chain Communication: Inform the Production Planning team of potential supplier shipment delays.
  • Escalation: Escalate supply-related issues to leadership in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of purchasing experience or 1 year working in a supply chain-related role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree in purchasing or supply chain management preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with individuals across a broad range of functions and varying seniority.
  • Ability to identify problems and take initiative to resolve problems.
  • High motivation to learn, develop, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position is not remote and requires the individual to be onsite Monday through Friday.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Able to extract drawings and specifications from the Doc Control system and confirm correct documentation is shared with suppliers.
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to track cost savings.
  • Experience working in an ERP system (e.g., QAD, SAP).
  • Shows initiative by assisting other team members when requested.
  • Organized self-starter with good reasoning skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountability:

This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by Title 22 of Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) §120.15 is required.
