Key Responsibilities:

The Surgical Services Nursing Supervisor is accountable for the strategic planning, organization, coordination, and assessment of management and clinical practice activities within the surgical unit(s) under their supervision. This role entails 24-hour accountability for the operating room and anesthesia departments, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the professional development of staff. On-call duties may be required.

  • Maintains productivity standards.
  • Ensures the provision of Quality Patient Care within the units.
  • Prepares, analyzes, reviews, and monitors operational and capital budgets for assigned units.
  • Facilitates and promotes the Performance Improvement plan within the unit.
  • Advocates for Balanced Scorecard initiatives.
  • Enhances customer satisfaction within the unit.
  • Communicates effectively with team members.
  • Embodies the Philosophy of Nursing and Administration.
  • Engages in ongoing educational activities related to the specialty area and management training.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Current RN License in Florida is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of management experience in the Operating Room is essential.
  • At least five (5) years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Certification in Operating Room Nursing (CNOR) must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Proficient use of the English language in both verbal and written communication.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agency requirements.
  • Experience with EPIC is preferred.
