JOB TITLE:
Fleet Maintenance Supervisor:
Operations ManagerScope: Responsible for the upkeep and sanitation of all transit vehicles and facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily fueling, cleaning, and lubrication checks on all vehicles as outlined in the Daily Maintenance Checklist.
- Wash and maintain buses and all company vehicles, ensuring compliance with the Vehicle Cleaning Standards.
- Oversee the cleanliness of service areas and vehicle storage locations on a daily basis.
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of grounds and facilities.
- Assist in the replacement of buses or vans in service during mechanical failures when technicians are unavailable.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, including wearing a clean, well-kept uniform while on duty.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Must be capable of understanding and executing both written and verbal instructions.
- General knowledge of fuels, lubricants, vehicle safety protocols, and cleaning agents is essential.
- A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record for a minimum of seven (7) years is necessary. Must obtain a Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement and Airbrakes.
Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of lifting or moving up to fifty pounds. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, or crawl is required. Repetitive tasks are part of the job.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and elevated noise levels is expected in the work environment.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally is necessary.
- Must possess clarity of vision with or without corrective lenses at all distances, with the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships between objects.
- Physical activities include lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and cleaning vehicle components. Must be able to hear engine sounds and perform tasks that require reaching and handling tools.
Other:
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Availability during emergencies declared by local authorities is essential.
Work Environment:
- Daily outdoor work entails exposure to dampness, dirt, noise, temperature extremes, vehicle emissions, chemicals, and inclement weather conditions.
