Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our team at Baker Consulting & Engineering LLC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and deadlines to ensure timely completion.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including short-interval look-ahead schedules.
  • Oversee daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, and schedule updates.
  • Develop and maintain a culture that prioritizes safety, health, and cleanliness on the job site.
  • Coordinate and manage construction activities to ensure compliance with project documents and company standards.
  • Establish and maintain dimensional controls, including the use of third-party survey and layout personnel.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure quality documentation of physical work.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, legal requirements, and community regulations.
  • Participate in pre-construction, progress, and project meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documents and verify their use by subcontractors.
  • Review contracts, subcontracts, and agreements to ensure scope, terms, and conditions are met.
  • Manage the punch list and project closeout process.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods for commercial and industrial projects.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • Current safety credentials, including OSHA certification and CPR/Life Safety Certs.
  • CQM-C Certification and USACE ECATS Certification (a plus).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:

This position requires ordinary ambulatory skills, the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights (10-50 pounds). The associate must have good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this position is $70,000-$120,000 plus incentives, specific to Jacksonville, FL, and determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience.
