Job Description

Black Fox is seeking a highly skilled Network Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining various types of electronic systems and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, upgrade, program, and repair electronic systems, including Motorola 700 MHz radios, bidirectional amplifiers, and network switches.
  • Provide technical services to repair and maintain SONET Ring and OTN networks, and other network infrastructures.
  • Work closely with network analysts to monitor, diagnose, and treat technical issues related to computer networking operations.
  • Assist System Administrators with backend integration and technical support for software and hardware systems.
  • Operate specialized test equipment to diagnose problems and perform inspections and maintenance.
  • Install and maintain radios, emergency lights, and sirens in vehicles.
  • Install software and firmware updates as required by the MTA to maintain functionality and security of various systems.
  • Read and utilize schematics, wire and circuit diagrams to install or repair systems.
  • Monitor system alarms and take corrective action to resolve.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in the use of computers operating on Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Possess and maintain a current 2nd Class or 1st Class Federal Communications Commission Radio Telephone Operator License.
  • Possess a valid driver's license to legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of Maryland.
  • Possess the required tools to perform on-site and field maintenance service and repairs.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in the field of electro-mechanics or radio electronics or electronic systems.
  • Completion of a four (4) year vocational or technical high school course of instruction in electronics, electricity or electro-mechanical maintenance or a related field.
