About the Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Support Specialist to join our team in the Healthy Families of America Program. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering home visiting services to families with histories of trauma, intimate partner violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse issues. Your expertise in parenting education, child development, communication, stress management, organization, and budgeting will help families build strong foundations for a brighter future.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide home visiting services to assigned families, promoting healthy relationships, effective parenting, and community engagement
  • Assess family needs and develop individualized plans to address specific challenges and goals
  • Collaborate with community resources to connect families with essential services and support systems
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Participate in regular training sessions, staff meetings, and community events to enhance knowledge and skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-2 years of experience in home visiting, infant/toddler development, or parenting education (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with Office 365 and SharePoint
  • Valid driver's license with adequate insurance coverage
