Job Summary:

C. Harper Auto Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager Assistant to join our dynamic team at the Ford/KIA dealership. As a key member of the service department, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the Service Manager in overseeing day-to-day service operations, managing service scheduling, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Assist in setting goals for the service department, focusing on efficiency, profitability, and customer retention.
  • Help oversee staffing, training, and performance monitoring of service technicians and advisors.
  • Maintain daily reports and records related to service operations, ensuring smooth communication with management.
  • Contribute to meetings and discussions with management and factory representatives to maintain standards and foster growth.
  • Coordinate service scheduling and technician time allocation to ensure optimal workflow.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring accurate estimates for repairs and services.
  • Conduct customer consultations to understand vehicle issues, recommend services, and explain repair options.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with customers during the service process, providing timely updates and addressing concerns.
  • Ensure that every customer leaves with a thorough understanding of the work completed, associated costs, and follow-up service recommendations.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Monitor service repairs to ensure adherence to dealership and manufacturer standards for quality.
  • Review repair orders before final processing, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and hazardous materials management.
  • Maintain customer service records and ensure all documentation is properly processed.
Requirements:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a service advisor, assistant manager, or related automotive service role, with demonstrated success in customer service and team management.

Technical Expertise:

  • Familiarity with automotive service processes and repair techniques.
  • Experience with service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Customer-Focused:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a strong ability to communicate effectively and handle customer inquiries or complaints.

Leadership Skills:

  • Ability to lead by example, motivating and mentoring service staff to achieve department goals.

Analytical Skills:

  • Capable of reviewing service data and identifying trends for performance improvement.

Clean Driving Record:

  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
