Job Overview

AMIkids Sandoval, Inc. is dedicated to providing essential transitional living and support services for at-risk youth. Our mission focuses on fostering a safe and nurturing environment for young males aged 13-18 who have been referred by various protective services.

The Educational Support Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding youth through their academic journey while establishing meaningful advisory relationships. This position employs diverse educational tools to engage students effectively, ensuring that their individual learning needs are met. Collaboration with educational staff is key to monitoring and enhancing the academic progress of each youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee youth engagement with online educational programs,
  • Implement various instructional materials to enhance learning experiences,
  • Serve as a mentor and positive influence for the youth,
  • Utilize effective classroom management strategies and report any significant behavioral issues to the administration,
  • Facilitate regular advisory sessions to track academic development,
  • Provide tailored intervention strategies to assist youth in understanding course material,
  • Engage with youth and their guardians to address academic challenges,
  • Support career development initiatives and pathways for eligible youth,
  • Encourage youth through motivational incentives and monitoring techniques,
  • Adopt a hands-on approach when providing tutoring,
  • Ensure compliance with program implementation standards,
  • Maintain consistent attendance and professional work habits,
  • Stay certified in CPR and First Aid through recognized organizations,
  • Administer first aid and CPR as needed during emergencies,
  • Participate in crisis intervention and physical restraint training as required,
  • Engage in recreational activities and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree is preferred,
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with middle or high school-aged youth.
