Position Summary:

The Route Planning Analyst plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and utilizing drivers, vehicles, and containers to enhance capacity, optimize productivity, and guarantee prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all clientele. This role also encompasses the execution and delivery of safety protocols, customer experience enhancement, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating both short-term and long-term route network strategies for IWS.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze diverse logistics data, including inventory and asset reliability, to enhance routing accuracy.
  • Design and sequence routes that are operationally sound and efficient to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor missed pickups, service commitments, and efficiency objectives, striving to meet or surpass these expectations.
  • Apply a consistent set of dynamic routing principles to guide route development.
  • Address driver performance issues and recommend corrective measures to management.
  • Adjust daily route information proactively and efficiently to boost standardization, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Oversee daily routing operations, resolving issues to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Assess opportunities for swing routes and confirm all potential swing options are identified.
  • Analyze trends in swing percentages with supervisory personnel to evaluate improvements.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by monitoring and adjusting plans throughout the day.
  • Comprehend daily disposal strategies to pinpoint optimal disposal sites for each load, ensuring driver accountability.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with management to review disposal plans and implement updates as necessary.
  • Evaluate monthly service areas and permanent customer bases to balance stops according to peak days.
  • Provide drivers with insights on customer interactions to prevent future missed pickups.
  • Determine the feasibility of expediting requests to enhance efficiency while ensuring superior customer experiences.
  • Update customer geocoding regularly to refine routing efficiencies.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in logistics or a related field with a focus on enhancing route efficiency.
  • Familiarity with routing software and logistics/supply chain ERP systems is highly preferred.
