Job Summary:

CRSI is seeking a highly skilled RN Medication Administration Trainer to join our team. As a Medication Administration Trainer, you will be responsible for teaching ODDD Medication Administration classes and providing oversight for the training of Medication Administration. You will ensure that staff are appropriately certified and trained in company-specific procedures for medication administration. Additionally, you may be asked to assist with nursing delegation to required locations as needed per company policy and as established by OBN and OD/DD's rule 5123:2-6-07, and oversee the delegation needs within the assigned region.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach ODDD Medication Administration classes and provide oversight for the training of Medication Administration, ensuring that staff are appropriately certified and trained in company-specific procedures for medication administration.
  • Assist with nursing delegation to required locations as needed per company policy and as established by OBN and OD/DD's rule 5123:2-6-07, and oversee the delegation needs within the assigned region.
  • Consult with, provide technical assistance, and serve as a resource to supervisors through the provision of telephone consultations in-servicing/retraining.
  • Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff and/or other staff as designated.
  • Assign responsibilities and provide professional nursing supervision in accordance with nursing services needed to operate assigned delegated facilities of the Agency.
  • Have an interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to learn from directions, observations, and mistakes, and apply procedures using good judgment.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with others.
  • Ability to work with supervision, receiving instructions, feedback, coaching, counseling, and/or discipline.
  • Must be self-motivated and cooperative, have a good attitude, and be able to perform under minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Must hold a current license (RN) by the State of Ohio and have been licensed for 1 year prior to application.
  • Must possess or be capable of obtaining Medication Administration Trainer Certification from ODODD.
  • Previous experience in providing nursing education or training programs and care of individuals with disabilities.
  • Capable of providing training and educational programs for nursing staff and/or other staff as designated.
  • Capable of assigning responsibilities and provide professional nursing supervision in accordance to nursing services needed to operate assigned delegated facilities of the Agency.
  • Have an interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Physical Demands:

This position may require some standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting of up to 30 pounds. He/she may be required to travel to various work site locations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
