About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Control Systems Specialist to join our team at Magna Seating Detroit. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the installation, debugging, and maintenance of new and existing PLC-based control systems. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes, and your attention to detail will help us maintain the highest level of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, debug, and maintain PLC-based control systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting and resolving machine PLC-related issues.
  • Develop and update technical documents, including work instructions, functional specifications, and electrical schematics.
  • Conduct machine functionality and fault recovery testing, and participate in project startup and machine commissioning.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, and other internal staff to ensure seamless communication and execution.

Requirements
  • Associate degree or trades qualification in Engineering, Mechatronics, PLC, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Control Technician/Technologist.
  • Basic knowledge of software packages such as Allen Bradley RSLogix500/5000 and Factory Talk View Studio.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
