Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, families, and significant others. This includes facilitation, communication, assessment, intervention, education, planning, and providing direct and indirect patient care. The nurse will also supervise others providing this care and communicate with multidisciplinary team members as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing, be registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and have a BSN completed or attained within 3 years of hire. Specialty certification is preferred, and the nurse must be able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate direction or supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, families, and significant others
  • Facilitate, communicate, assess, intervene, educate, plan, and provide direct and indirect patient care
  • Supervise others providing this care
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary team members as appropriate
  • Act as a patient/customer advocate and a Redeemer Health representative
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • BSN completed or attained within 3 years of hire
  • Specialty certification preferred
  • IV skills
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS in specialty areas (L&D, ED, ICU, PACU, ACU, CVC required within 6 months)
  • NRP (NICU, LDR, MIU, Nursery required within 6 months)
  • PALS (ED, PACU 0 required within 6 months)
  • Fetal monitor certification preferred for LDR (required within 1 to 2 years based on experience)
  • 8 hours annual stroke education and NIH certification for 2 South RNs
  • 4 hours annual stroke education for ED and ICCU RNs
  • Stroke education per unit protocol annually
  • Must be available for alternate shift work
  • Must meet satisfactory completion of orientation and competency validation within probationary period
