Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The key function of this role is to set up, operate, and oversee manufacturing machinery. It is essential to ensure that the machines deliver high-quality products while operating efficiently and at full capacity. This position involves managing machine-specific tasks within production lines according to established work instructions and specifications.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Night Shift Role - Operating from 10:00 PM to 6:15 AM, Sunday through Thursday
  • Comprehend and execute all tasks related to furnace equipment
  • Adhere to Operations' Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Achieve all production and quality targets
  • Operate a narrow web retort furnace
  • Load and manage furnace operations:
  • Conduct roll-to-roll web slicing and transfer rolls of coated materials
  • Monitor the proper functioning of furnaces
  • Control temperature, hydrogen flow, and operational speed
  • Ensure the quality of produced materials; avoid furnace abrasions, scraping, or damage
  • Manage alloying processes and ensure uniformity
  • Document furnace material accurately
  • Maintain records of quantities produced
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of the furnace retort and related equipment as necessary
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace
  • Understand and take responsibility for all safety, quality, and procedural guidelines in the work area.
  • Identify and report any irregularities in the process to the supervisor.
  • Track daily production counts for each task performed.
  • Accurately maintain daily time sheets.
  • Meet or exceed safety, quality, and production objectives.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Lift and move products as needed.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a safety-first mindset, be detail-oriented, capable of following instructions, and have experience in a repetitive manufacturing setting or a willingness to learn these skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) along with 1-3 years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions. Ability to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
