Job Summary

Michael Page is seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team in Metro Columbus. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and supervise construction staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete projects successfully
  • Coordinate with pre-construction services to prepare estimates, schedules, and subcontractor coordination
  • Monitor and delegate tasks to team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively
  • Develop and implement pre-planning activities for projects to ensure coordinated efforts between subcontractors, architects, inspectors, and suppliers
  • Inspect in-progress work to ensure workmanship conforms to specifications and construction schedules
  • Document on-site activities in daily reports, including verbal directives, progress pictures, delays, weather conditions, and on-site manpower
  • Develop a detailed construction phase schedule for projects and update it weekly to ensure critical path activities and milestones are being achieved
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional on-site working relationships with owners, architects, consulting engineers, and other parties related to projects
  • Assist in monitoring and planning the quality control program
  • Enforce a safe work environment, culture, and practices on projects
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in healthcare, light industrial, or commercial construction
  • Strong mentoring and teaching skills, excellent communication skills, leadership experience, organized, motivator, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to prioritize, provide training to enhance team, ability to evaluate staff strengths and weaknesses, organized and disciplined thinker
  • Strong computer aptitude and mathematical background
