Job Overview

D'Asign Source is seeking a highly skilled Residential Lead Audio Video Technician to join our team. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for the integration of Audio & Video, Lighting Control, low voltage project installation, programming, and crew management to ensure the usability and stable operation of all systems.

This includes supporting clients, planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all hardware, software, and communication links.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop system proposals, designs, estimating, ordering, installation, and implementation.
  • Install, diagnose and repair electrical, technology, and software systems.
  • Terminate, connect, and test all types of electrical and fiber cables.
  • Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, performance issues, adjustments, repairs or replacements to ensure compliance with specs and codes.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as computers, electronic meters/measuring devices, hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and other equipment to install, maintain or repair systems, components, and fixtures in high places and on roofs.
  • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated ditches, partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes when needed.
  • Construct and fabricate parts, using tools, equipment, and specifications.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches and moving/lifting heavy objects on an as-needed basis.
  • Perform duties at company facilities and jobsite location.
  • Inspect and test completed systems to insure operation and performance to meet contracted scope of work, specs, and industry standards.
  • Document and educate clients, and staff on proper system operation.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Approx. 5 years experience in AV home integration and installation.
  • Proficient in operating computer and software systems.
  • I.T. and AV certifications in network administration and home automation such as Lutron, URC, and PNCA are a plus.
  • A thorough knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with tech support services in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work in tight spaces and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.
