Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Specialist to join our team. As a Classroom Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal growth of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support to assigned students, facilitating their participation in educational activities and promoting their independence.
- Assist students with daily living activities, such as toileting, menstrual care, and self-care, as needed.
- Implement behavior support plans and provide prompting for completion of new skills and practice on maintained or generalized skills.
- Collaborate with the education team to develop and implement individualized plans that promote student growth and development.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or associate's degree preferred.
- One year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid New York driver's license required.
- Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor are essential for this role.
