Job Title: IT Specialist

The IT Specialist will provide technical support and assistance to the Systems Administrator in all IT functions needed for the agency at all locations. The position will focus on help desk support and responding to help desk tickets promptly. In addition, the position will assist with updating phone systems, email distribution lists, minor physical troubleshooting, updating and installing software, software compatibility troubleshooting, and other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance and respond to all internal helpdesk requests quickly and effectively to drive open tickets to completion.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions, determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by users, and walk users through problem-solving processes.
  • Communicate feedback, suggestions, critical matters, unresolved issues, or when additional experience or support is needed with the Systems Administrator.
  • Document events, issues, problems, and solutions.
  • Responsible for inventory tracking of hardware, including agency-issued cell phones.
  • Install, test, and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment, and software, as directed by the Systems Administrator.
  • Imaging and software maintenance as directed by the Systems Administrator.
  • Support with equipment check-ins and check-outs.
  • Perform workstation hardware and software upgrades as directed by the Systems Administrator.
  • Support with all tasks of onboarding and off-boarding of agency staff.
  • Responsible for printer management and support.
  • Provide coverage and backup as needed in the absence of the Systems Administrator.
  • Participate in agency staff meetings and trainings, as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or certification related to Information Technology preferred, but not required.
  • 1-2 years of direct work-related experience required.

Or a combination of education and experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work.

Benefits:
  • Starting Pay Range between $23.41 - $25.85 per hour (DOE)
  • Part-time benefits include: SIMPLE IRA Retirement Plan (3% Employer Match), Employee Assistance Program, Paid Sick and Vacation Leave, 12 Holidays per year, and Health club discount.
